WHO WE ARE

Stop & Smell The Roses is dedicated to ending the negative stigma around the cannabis industry and educating people on the cannabis and hemp plants. We understand that the cannabis industry is new and quickly emerging; that’s why we pride ourselves on providing as much information as possible to our communities.

Currently, we educate using the following outlets:

CONSULTATIONS

By booking a free consultation, you’ll have the opportunity to speak one-on-one with one of our industry experts. During the consultation, you can ask us any and all questions about the hemp and cannabis plants. Whether you use medicinally or recreationally, our experts will be able to speak to you about intake methods, how to safely consume cannabis and the benefits of waiting until you are 19 to consume.

SPEAKING OPPORTUNITIES

As the cannabis industry continues to grow, it is becoming increasingly important to ensure Ontario communities are properly informed. We speak to different communities about all things hemp and cannabis plant, including but not limited to: the history of Canadian cannabis; cannabis legalization in Ontario; safe consumption of cannabis; cannabis strains; hemp nutrition.

EDUCATIONAL ARTICLES

Every week we release an educational article on our website – each week covers a new industry topic.

HOW WE STARTED

When our Founder, Cody Coulson was 11 years old, his father was diagnosed with cancer and began using medical cannabis to relieve the discomfort. His father passed away after the second attack, leaving him frustrated with the cannabis system’s lack of regulation and access to quality products, but passionate to learn more about its medical benefits (and driven to find a solution).

When Cody was 18 he had his first grand mal seizure. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with epilepsy and prescribed a series of daily prescription drugs. Almost immediately, he began experiencing cold sweats, insomnia and a severe loss of his emotions. Cody decided to quit his prescription and try CBD. CBD allowed Cody not only to rid himself of the negative side effects associated with his previous prescriptions, but also from having to take further prescriptions his doctors had prescribed to minimize those negative side effects.

Thrilled with his success with CBD, Cody decided to share his story throughout different communities. The more he shared, the more he noticed a need for CBD and cannabis education. Since then, he has been dedicated to ending the stigma around cannabis and educating people on the benefits of these alternatives.

At 24 years old, Cody now holds a Plant Production and Facility Management Diploma from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. He has been studying the hemp and cannabis plants for over 8 years. In this time, he has written and published multiple papers on CBD and has been featured in noteworthy publications such as High Times Magazine.

With the legalization of recreational cannabis in Canada, Cody’s next steps will be applying for a licence to sell recreational cannabis come April 2019 when privatization occurs. In the meantime, we will continue to help break down barriers associated with cannabis stigma, and educate our communities in any way we can.

Currently, here’s how we expect our cannabis stores to look:
